Did you know that a number of ASA Awards may be claimed by Club Members once they achieve certain Distances / Times / Standards?
Distance Awards.
These are usually swam for once a year, at the postal swim in February. They are known as the Rainbow Swimming awards and they can be claimed for the following distances;
25m, 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 600m, 800m, 1000m, 1500m, 1 MILE, 2000m, 3000m, 4000m & 5000m.
Standards Awards
The learn to swim certificates are called national swim awards, ranging from
level 1 up to level 12. These correspond to levels 1 thru 12 of the ASA National Plan for Swimming. To attain each of these levels the swimmer must pass an assessment, which we do every 10 weeks or so. The Learn-to-Swim program at Heanor follows levels 1-6 of the Plan, and the Friday first session follow levels 7-12. Swimmers must take these assessments to move up lanes, once they have completed these assessments they may claim the award.
Sprint Awards
The Sprint awards encourage swimmers in competitive clubs to swim fast. Available in all 4 competitive strokes and at various distances, swimming the times below qualify you for the bronze, silver, gold and now Platinum awards. If you have achieved these times in any gala, Open Meet or time trial then you may claim those awards.

Middle distance certificates are also available for distances of 200m and 400m, qualifying times to follow.
