Ripley Rascals 41st Open Meet 18.01.14

We’ll it was a Great start to the year for Belper Marlin at the 41st Rascals Open Meet where 24 swimmers made the short trip to the Arc in Matlock. competitions in a very busy meet against clubs from around the country the mighty Marlins held there own.

There were plenty of PB’s, Medals and Trophy’s for the Mighty Marlin swimmers and they could be heard jiggling up the stairs as they left the venue on there way home.

A Special mention and congratulations go to two swimmers Maddie Shrimpling and Casper Raynard who both swam Great races in the 100M Breaststroke and 200m Freestyle respectively and gained Midland Times.

The aim for the majority of our swimmers was to gain qualification times for the forthcoming Counties if the swimmers hadn’t already achieved them or ensure qualification if they had, so another mention to Alice Allen who regained her 50m Freestyle.

So the land training is starting to pay off and the hard Pool training will continue as the Counties draw closer.

We’ll done to all who swam and as always to the army of Parents who also raise the roof when required.

Good luck to all the time trial swimmers today and all the swimmers who are at Long Eaton Open meet next weekend.
