Welcome to Belper Marlin Masters Swimming Club

If you are aged 18 or over and wish to gain better health, better fitness or make new friends through swimming, Belper Marlin Masters Club is ideal for you.

The squad encompasses a whole range of abilities from casual fitness through to highly organised competitive swimming. Everyone has his or her reason for swimming; health, general fitness, camaraderie or just for fun, how far you go is up to you.

Masters Training Times

We train at the following times:

    • Monday evening: 9pm to 10pm at Belper Leisure Centre
    • Thursday morning: 6am to 7am at Belper Leisure Centre
    • Thursday evening: 9pm to 10pm at Alfreton Leisure Centre
    • Friday evening: 9pm to 10pm at Alfreton Leisure Centre
    • Sunday evening: 6pm to 7pm at Belper Leisure Centre

Each session is supervised by qualified lifeguards and provides graded lane swimming for all ability levels.

There are a number of social events organised throughout the year and several members are keen competitors at various Masters Competitions.

  • 52% of Masters train for 3 hours or less per week, swimming between 1 and 10,000 metres in that time; 54% used dry land training.
  • Weights, flexibility and jogging were the most popular forms of land training.
