Marlins A Team
Belper Marlin A team were 2nd in the Derbyshire and Notts league going into the second round but it was always going to prove to be tough round with 7 of the first choice swimmers unavailable. The swimmers battled hard against tough opposition and eventually finished joint third in a very tight finish. Sutton won clearly with 225 points Sherwood 204 pts MARLINS and Ripley joint third on 149 points Derby Phoenix 5th on 148 points. Victories were few and far between with just 3 1st place finishes.They were: Phoebe Barden 50 Breaststroke, 50 Freestyle 11 y/o and Girls 11 y/o Medley team Jolie Baker , Alice King, Megan Crompton and Phoebe Barden. Well done to everyone who swam, there were some great swims and plenty of PB times and we look forward to the final round on Saturday June 18th. Please make sure you are available for this date.
Marlins B Team
It was a really good atmosphere at Alfreton on Saturday evening with four swimmers competing in the Diddy League for the first time, William Bradley, Dannan Lewis, James Hicklin and Sabine Maclachlan.
The 9yr boys, William Bradley and Joshua Whysall, and 9y girls, Perdy Wright and Sabine Maclachlan, all having to swim up in the 10y relays really helped the points situation. As did Joe Gibbard swimming in 6 events.
Overall there were 4 DQs, and 16PBs
A Great Night was had by all.
