A quick update on the result for Belper Marlin A team.The stars of the future for Belper Marlin were out in force last night with both and A and B team swimming. The A team made the most of a favourable draw, avoiding last years top 3 clubs in the first round. They were on great form and completely dominated the gala eventually winning with 227 points which was a huge 39 points ahead of City of Derby B team. There were 19 first places and the names of the winners are too many to mention. For many of the 9 and 10 y/o swimmers this was their first really competitive gala and they performed really well with few disqualifications. There was a great team spirit , some wonderful individual performances and more points in the end than I can ever remember Marlins getting. WELL DONE!

With Belper having a second Team in this years competition, it gave a lot of the more inexperienced younger swimmers the opportunity to be involved in team gala for the first time. They were all keen and enthusiastic both in their swimming and support of their team mates. There were some good individual and team swims. At the end of the evening the swimmers had enjoyed themselves, had smiles on their faces and were already looking forward to Round 2!
