Safeguarding & Protecting Children Workshop

 
Who needs to do the Safeguarding & Protecting Children workshop.

All Coaches, Teachers, Poolside Helpers, Land Training Coaches and Team Managers,anyone who would like to do one of these jobs, or anyone who has already done the course who needs to renew there current certificate. 

This is a requirement every 3 Years.

Workshop Description

This workshop will raise your awareness of the telltale signs of abuse and poor practice, and give you the tools you need to deal with any issues sensitively, appropriately and effectively should the need ever arise in your coaching career. For ‘Safeguarding and Protecting Children’ the delegates must be aged over 16 years. Delegates under 16 will not be certificated. Delegates under 18 years must be chaperone.*

 * The chaperone should be known to the young person before the workshop takes place and someone they feel comfortable talking about sensitive subjects with. The chaperone should not be a delegate already participating in the workshop as the chaperone’s purpose should be to support the young person. Chaperones will not be certificated following a ‘Safeguarding and Protecting Children’ workshop. The chaperone must stay for the duration of the workshop, but how individual tutors use chaperones can be agreed with a young person on a case-by-case basis.
