This was a really good gala with lots of younger swimmers competing for the first time
There were some excellent swims from the novices and lots of victories for the swimmers listed above
The sessions in the morning ended with the ‘skins’ event ie 7 consecutive 50 swims with only 2 minutes rest and the slowest eliminated each round.
Both Joshua Horobin and Dan Breeze made the mens final finishing a very creditable 7th and 5th respectively
In the ladies event – the last of the day – Maddie Shrimpling finished 6th and in a tense last 50m Leah Hollingsworth took the title and the cash in the womens race. She also won female swimmer of the meet. It was a great way to finish a very positive day for the club
