On behalf of the Laura Centre I’d like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who took part in the Mega Swim last weekend. You raised a massive £6639 all of which goes to this excellent cause.
Gail, co-founder of the Laura Centre rang me last week to express her gratitude to the swimmers. They are overwhelmed by the generosity and hard work which has gone in to raising this huge amount. Gail founded the Laura Centre with her husband 35 years ago, when their 5 year old daughter Laura died of leukaemia highlighting the lack of support for grieving parents (and siblings, as Laura was a twin). Since then they have helped countless families come to terms with the devastating loss of a child, sibling or parent.
