Well what a day at Sheffields Ponds Forge the Mighty Marlins had, 64 swimmers aged between 9yrs to Masters travelled the 33 miles north to compete in the County Sprints.
This is by far the biggest team that we have taken to a County event in years, the Club continues to grow in size and the Team spirit is growing with it.
On the Day;
We took some 8 Gold Medals,10 Silver Medals,11 Bronze Medals 38no 4th,5th and 6th places and had 67 top 6 places overall.
Long Course PB’s: Male 83no, Female 112no another massive improvement year on year.
Mike Brett Head Coach said “The club is a great place to be at the moment with lots going on and swimmers swimming at a really high standard, the last 2 months have been fantastic. Lets hope the forthcoming Club Championships and last round of the Arena League are as good if not better”.
A big thankyou to the Team Managers yesterday, Claire and Lotte, Coaches Mike, Phil, Andy, Allan (Big Mac) and Lucy who all put in a great shift and kept the ship sailing in the right direction.
As usual we cant forget the Army of supporters which just keeps growing, so a big thankyou to you all for cheering on not only your swimmer but everyone elses.
Get ready to Roar them on at the forthcoming Gala’s the louder the better….
