Belper Marlin Juniors produced a truly dominant performance to win the ‘B’ final round of the Notts and Derby Junior League. The team of 9-12 y/o swimmers won 18 and were 2nd in 11 of the 44 events gaining a superb 227 out of a possible 282 points. Marlins finished a full 40 points clear of the next club.
Winners were as follows : 9 y/o Phoebe Barden Fc and BC , Eleanor Moseley Brs, and both 9y/o medley and fc teams. 10 y/o Sam Brookes 50 Fly , Dean Smith 50 BC. 11 y/o Girls FC team , Boys medley team and Danny Skinner boys 50 fc and 50 fly. The excellent boys 12y/o team went on to complete a whitewash in their age group by winning every event Casper Raynard 50 fly Dom Shrimpling 50 brs William Brookes 50 fc and bc, they won both fc and medley teams and the final combined event the ‘Cannon’ with one boy and one girl from each age group was won by 5 seconds but a great set of swimmers who gave the other teams no chance cheered on by our [as ever] noisy, raucous, supporters. Well done to all it was a great gala and and a superb way to end this year’s Junior League.
